metaio and ST-Ericsson Team Up to Optimize Augmented Reality Experiences

Howdy. Welcome to the Mobile World Congress. Finally I´ve managed to find a slot in the wifi-cue and can now publish my first story from this huge event. Didn´t expect to see it so crowded. In the next days I am featuring some out-of-home made movies and stories from Barcelona. Please excuse typos or shaky video parts, I am actually blogging from the paella bar or the neighbors booth by the nice ladies from www.krusell.se – mobile and tablet cases who let me sit in their cosy corner. But I have to be quick…
The first one demonstrates the outcome of our collaboration with ST Ericsson on improving the perfomance of augmented reality experiences. We are showcasing our very advanced augmented reality browser junaio, which uses GPS data, combined with state-of-the-art image-recognition and processing, to overlay information and graphics on to the real-time images being captured by the smartphone’s camera. Very computationally-intense, junaio exploits the U8500 platform’s efficient graphics utilization, processor extensions and camera integration to provide a smooth and responsive user-experience. But see for yourself:
