Look, out there: augmented reality!

I especially like the tag given in the below, stumpled-upon youtube video about  “Winscape” project: “home improvement”. Ha ha. While others discuss about curtains or blankets, you could easily change the sight by switching the window channel. Yeah! This is home improvement 4.0! and gives you some more insights into augmenting your point of view. It is not easy to track the angle and eye position of a spectator – lucky them there comes a wii mote to the rescue. I love the concept of putting exsiting stuff into a new context and thus would define the project as very innovative…

Interesting concept. I wonder if this would improve worker moral and motivation. Think of it even in a cube farm you could have whatever view you desired at the moment. On your lunch break you could sit on the beach and eat your sandwich. Smart use of the wii-mote.

Hm, I think that fair wages and identification are more important for workers… For me that scenario is more important from a design perspective, than from a functional point of view. Although it is interesting to think about giving nice views to people who have no other choice than the virtual one: convicts for example, or ill / almost bedridden people. Interesting impulse though, thanks for that direction of my thoughts.
