Augmented Web

Sometimes things change in the way you look at them. Put aside thoughts about love, hate or other states of mind – the weather somehow doesn´t belong to this category. OK, lovers dancing through the rain … In fact: the AR weather webcam won´t help me feeling better with the approx. 104 types of rain we know in Germany. But I like the idea of augmenting visualization applications accessible via web. There are definitely some more scenarios to think about. Although a fixed camera actually isn´t “pure” augmented reality, the AR weather cam is worth to be mentioned here. I want to develop an additional video-eraser, so I can delete grey blocks and plant virtual yet very green trees…
Augmented Museum

You want to catch a glimpse into the future while diving into the past? No problem. Just visit Louvre – DNP Museum Lab in Tokyo these days. That´s where we have installed an AR solution, based on ultra mobile PCs, live stream, sensor fusion and loads of work. But I think it was worth the effort. We are not too many steps away from making Augmented Reality mainstream, what do you think? The advantages of mixing the realities are getting more and more obvious.
