Fashion Victims meet Technology Disciples

First of all, I´m not talking about “nerds and their shirts” in this entry. On the contrary. I want to show you, what one of our researchers has worked on at the Max-Planck-Institute of Computer Science. What they call “texture replacement of garments in monocular video sequences” is yet another fine example for an innovative product visualization concept with many possible applications: A mixed reality fashion-show, augmented reality in e-shops for clothes or interactive and immersive solutions for POS-marketing. Of course the video is not as chic as a this showreel by vizoo.
What they have in common is to show the fascination and relevance of innovative technologies for future marketing. Not only for cars or electronic devices. Great ideas combined with upfront formal solutions always stay in mind and will never go out of fashion.
Living Augmented Reality

Well, the software we used to produce this video is used for interior design. With this augmented reality solution a user takes a picture of his / her real apartment, uploads it and integrates furniture seamlessly in oder to plan his new living or working environment. It can be integrated into webshop functionalities in order to visualize products within the user´s individual context for example. Actually. But of course you can also produce a music video…
