The good thing about future gaming with augmented reality is, that you need a very good physical shape, to run around with aproximately 10 kilos of equipment on your head, back and shoulders. Gaming will be exercising – what painfully reminds me of my charley horse after playing tennis on the wii. Sorry, but geeks will go through hard times … So they should use their superior minds to create hardware that keeps up with the creativity of software development – or go to the Gym!

Do you see the light?

palenque_angular_map.jpg With a light probe you can make a virtual object interact with light and other real visual influences. Here´s a link to the interesting movies about producing, or better reproducing, light and mirror effetcts:

OK, there are many interesting prototypes out there. And especially in the augmented reality sector there are much more research scenarios than ready to use products. But nevertheless I would love to see a TV report about the real (sounds funny) scenarios. Where and how can augmented reality play a productive role right now? Hm, I think I could give some answers. Until somebody asks me I keep watching videos like the one above … By the way: I like it.
